The Scratch Band

The Scratch Band was formed in March 1998 to feature Mark's  compositions for a large ensemble. The impetus for the 11-piece band came from a desire to write in an orchestral way for a large jazz group and the name reflects the spontanaeity and freshness in the music. The line-up features some of the most creative improvisers in Britain today.
 

Perfect Houseplants

 Perfect Houseplants is a unique collaboration between four of the most distinctive voices in British modern music and acknowledged as being "at the cutting edge of contemporary jazz music" (The Guardian) with an innovative approach to composition, "operating in a territory of folksy tunes, sultry tangos, waltzes and busy time changes."
